National Hispanic Heritage Month is celebrated from September 15 until October 15 every year. Teachers across the District are honoring Hispanic histories, cultures, and heritage every day.

North Ridge fifth grader Alleigh Denning is displaying Frenship’s SERVE model by donating to wildfire victims after being inspired by circumstances in her own life. When Denning’s great Aunt and several of her cousins were forced to evacuate from their homes due to wildfires on the West Coast, she began her quest to help.

Last week fourth graders at Upland Heights Elementary finished learning about adding and subtracting decimals. To apply their learning to real-world situations, fourth grade teacher Noelle Flores transformed her classroom into a Dion’s pizzeria.

Since students have returned to school amid COVID-19, Frenship nurses are facing the profound challenge of ensuring both student’s and staff’s health. Over the first six-weeks, many nurses have found creative ways to keep their offices safe.

Mallory Thomas teaches American Sign Language at Frenship High School. Thomas is broadening student’s skills, not just by helping them learn American Sign Language (ASL), but also by helping them apply those ASL skills in their everyday lives.

Kayla Northcutt, second grade teacher at North Ridge Elementary, was selected as a member of the 2020-2021 class of the Texas Education Policy Fellowship Program (TX-EPFP), a professional development program coordinated by the College of Education at Texas Tech University.

Counselors and teachers across Frenship connect and engage with students every school year, but due to COVID-19 they are having to become an even more creative resource for students, parents, and staff.

Aramark, Frenship’s food service provider, recently added a few new faces to their team to assist with Frenship growth. These new additions will allow Aramark to do even more to serve Frenship students.

For followers of Frenship Athletics, the work ethic and year-round dedication of Frenship High School’s Cross Country team is no secret. In the midst of the uncertainty brought by COVID-19, that team’s commitment to constant improvement through hard work has not wavered.
