The aquatic science classrooms at Frenship High School are overflowing with life as students dive into hands-on learning. Thanks to a Frenship Foundation for Leadership Teacher Grant, the classrooms now feature a variety of aquatic animals and ecosystems.

On May 13, Frenship ISD proudly hosted the annual Superintendent’s Academic Excellence Banquet to celebrate the academic achievements of the top 10 students in the sophomore, junior, and senior classes at Frenship High School.

This year, Saundra Wimberley, Frenship alum and first grade teacher at Crestview Elementary, celebrates 24 years of stitching together memories for her students.

This week, Gifted and Talented students at Westwind Elementary became museum curators as they presented their research on ancient Egypt. Their temporary exhibit featured handcrafted sarcophaguses, replicas of ancient jewelry, and presentations on hieroglyphics, religion, and Egyptian culture.

This month’s theme for Mental Health Minute is Courage. As a component of the 2021 Strategic Plan Initiative, the goal of the Mental Health Minute is to spread awareness of mental health across Frenship ISD.

This week, Frenship ISD hosted its 24th annual Staff Appreciation Banquet to honor the district’s retirees, service pins awards of 20 years and up, and the campus support professionals of the year, rookie teachers of the year, and teachers of the year.

Last week, students at Legacy Elementary heard from Texas Tech Professor, Dirk Fowler about graphic design and the creative opportunities this unique career path can offer.

This week two Frenship teachers were honored at the Staked Plains Council of Social Studies Banquet. Matt Bruce from Alcove Trails Middle School was named the Middle School Social Studies Teacher of the Year and Saundra Wimberley from Crestview Elementary was named the Elementary Social Studies Teacher of the Year.

Frenship High School Construction and Manufacturing students are using their hands and hearts to give back to the community through this year’s Casas for CASA fundraiser, building a one-of-a-kind playhouse to benefit children in foster care.

Students in the fashion design program at Frenship High School are using their skills to support cancer patients and spread kindness one stitch at a time. Their handcrafted caps and blankets are being donated to families through Ronald McDonald House Charities.
