The Frenship ISD Communications Department had a successful showing at the annual Texas School Public Relations Association conference in San Antonio this week. The team brought home 15 state awards including nine gold Star Awards, four silver Star Awards, and two Best of Category Awards.

Kindergarten students at Legacy Elementary recently explored the changing seasons in an engaging and interactive lesson led by the Texas Farm Bureau. Through storytelling, hands-on activities, and thoughtful discussions, students gained a deeper understanding of how weather and seasons impact agriculture and daily life.

Over 100 students are getting hands-on experience and gearing up for successful careers in Automotive Technology. Students gain real world experience by utilizing staff and community members cars in this CTE program.

Amy Moss, Frenship High School’s Choir Director and Teacher was recently honored with the Wayland Baptist Educators Serving Texans (B.E.S.T) Award. This award was presented to nine Wayland Baptist graduates who are distinguished educators in public schools.

Dozens of students at Frenship High School are gaining a head start in the healthcare field through the hands-on Health Science courses offered through the CTE program. From assisting patients during clinical rotations to mastering essential medical skills, these future healthcare professionals are charting a path toward success in the medical field.

This past Saturday, Tigers from across the district competed in the Area 17 Special Olympics Basketball Tournament. The event provided an exciting opportunity for students to demonstrate their skills in a supportive and encouraging environment.

This month’s theme for Mental Health Minute is Kindness. As a component of the 2021 Strategic Plan Initiative, the goal of the Mental Health Minute is to spread awareness of mental health across Frenship ISD.

Second-grade students at Legacy Elementary are getting hands-on lessons in sustaining plant life. Thanks to a teacher grant from the Frenship Foundation for Leadership, these classrooms are cultivating their knowledge using a three-tiered plant grow cart.

Rhonda Dillard, Frenship ISD Assistant Superintendent of Human Resources, has been selected as one of only nine women across the Lubbock area to be inducted into the YWCA’s prestigious Women of Excellence Academy this year.

Dr. Christopher Vasquez-Wright, a Frenship High School dual language social studies teacher, has been named a 2024 Humanities Texas Outstanding Early-Career Teaching Award recipient, a prestigious award only given to two teachers in Texas this year.
