Sometimes, an outfit is just an outfit. Other times, an outfit is an English lesson in the making.
Fourth graders in Ashley Teague’s class at Upland Heights Elementary were excited to find that their classroom was transformed into a Fashion Week style runway. Students were encouraged to wear anything they liked as they took on the catwalk.
In an educational twist, fellow students would observe the model’s outfit and hold up a card indicating the number of adjectives they could think of to describe their friend’s outfit.
This lesson is an example of the Engage portion of the FISD Instructional Model – TIGERS Learning Framework. More information about the TIGERS framework can be found here.
