Frenship ISD Custodial Staff Learns New Practices to Start School Year

Cecil Flores, Frenship Custodial Services Operation Manager, is helping train custodians and staff to do just that.

Flores said the children, staff, visitors and the Frenship team are the main reasons for all the new cleaning, disinfecting, and sanitizing improvements. While COVID-19 has expedited these changes, our Frenship families are the main concern.

“These are not just students; these are our children,” said Flores. “We have to take care of them.”

Beyond hiring additional custodial staff, Frenship added a Quality Assurance Custodian (QAC) to each campus. The QAC will ensure the building is sanitized and disinfected to the standards set forth by the district.

Derek Cobb, Frenship Director of Maintenance Operations, said that Frenship is committed to providing the safest and healthiest environment possible for students and staff at each campus.

“I have received positive feedback and appreciation from both custodians and staff at Frenship on the new processes,” said Cobb.

Some of the new processes include: students taking home all personal items at the end of each school day, teachers keeping classrooms free of loose paper, name tags, writing utensils and other fixtures at the end of each school day, and high touch areas being clear for deep cleaning, disinfection, and sanitation at the end of each school day.

Custodial staff will monitor high touch areas throughout each campus during the day. These areas will be disinfected and sanitized between use as much as possible, and additionally in the evening.

Frenship custodians, teachers, and staff are being trained on improved cleaning procedures daily. The district wide measures align with guidance provided by the American Institute of Cleaning Sciences.

The district is also currently hiring more custodial staff. If interested please apply online at by clicking here or in person at 402 Dowden Road in Wolfforth, Texas. For more information, call Diana Cortez at 806-866-9318.
