North Ridge Elementary third grade students headed to the library wearing chef hats and aprons for a unique dining experience with literature.
The library turned into a restaurant with reading as the main course in order to get students to find a new way to choose what books would interest them most.
"Each student had a menu of titles to choose from," said Bridgett Turner, Library Media Specialist, "and on the menu they noted what they found interesting about each different genre. Students really enjoyed the atmosphere and experience of the book tasting event."
Page by page, students flipped through multiple books to determine the purpose of the author's story, whether the story was fiction or non-fiction and their level of interest in each book.
