My name is Melissa Horst and I have been the school nurse at North Ridge since 2005. I received my Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the Texas Tech Health Sciences Center in 1995. My husband David also graduated from Texas Tech. We bleed red & black! Our favorite thing to do is cheer on our Red Raiders! Our 4 sons, Brendan, Logan, Nathan, and Reagan, have all attended Frenship since Kindergarten. Brendan, Logan & Nathan are Frenship graduates, and Reagan is a student at Frenship High School. We love spending time together as a family traveling, exploring, eating, and laughing. Our favorite place is the beach, but we tend to have fun wherever we are! 

 

I have worked in different areas in my years as a Registered Nurse, but school nursing is my absolute favorite!  I love working with staff, students, and families to help make school a safe, fun, and healthy experience. I am always available as a resource for any needs, questions, or concerns you may have regarding the medical needs of your student(s).
